The temporary grouping, led by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia/AF517 and completed by Principioattivo Architecture Group (co-designer), won the competition announced by the Istituto Poligrafico Zecca dello Stato (IPZS) for the redevelopment of the historic headquarters located in Rione Esquilino, in Via Principe Umberto, Rome. The building, which occupies an area of 16000 square meters, will see the creation of a cultural center for the museum enhancement of the artistic resources of the national numismatic heritage and a section of industrial archaeology, along with a historical archive, a library, areas for educational activities, laboratories, an auditorium/congress center, offices and services, a restaurant, a cafeteria and a bookshop.
