We conducted an estimate of a private collection for insurance purposes, consisting of about 40 works of art (including paintings, drawings, and sculptures) and 70 antique books.

The works of art include mainly 19th- and 20th-century Italian authors, such as Giuseppe De Nittis, Filippo De Pisis, Giacomo Favretto, Giovanni Fattori, Francesco Messina, Medardo Rosso, and Mario Sironi, as well as 15th-16th-century paintings from the Veneto and Lombard schools.
Prominent among the books are texts from the 15th to 19th centuries, including works by Luca Pacioli, Torquato Tasso, and Giovanni Boccaccio, as well as valuable maps such as Ptolemy's "Geographia Universalis."

Our estimate included:

  • Viewing the collection: verifying authenticity, conservation status, and documentation.
  • Research on authors: biographical, stylistic and historical analysis, with study of sources and catalogs.
  • Bibliographic analysis: verification of rare editions and contextualization of works.
  • Market analysis: comparison with similar sales in auctions and antiquarian circuits.
