The Vera Canevazzi Art Consulting studio carried out a study, authentication, and appraisal of a painting by Gianfranco Baruchello belonging to a Milanese collector.
The project began with in-depth research into the history of the work, aimed at reconstructing the context in which it was created, its provenance, and the available historical and critical documentation. At the same time, the studio coordinated the entire authentication process at the Baruchello Foundation, liaising with the artist's archive and accompanying the collector through every stage of the process.
Subsequently, an appraisal was carried out, which concerned a little-known work by the artist from the 1960s. The valuation was conducted using an integrated methodology based both on an analysis of Baruchello's artistic profile—considering his biography, exhibition history, and positioning on the primary and secondary markets—and on an in-depth technical examination of the work, including its technique, date, dimensions, state of preservation, and quality of documentation.
The final estimate was formulated taking into account the current market scenario, comparisons with comparable works, and the cultural and heritage value of the work, resulting in a consistent and up-to-date valuation in relation to the reference market.
