ELISA CARUTTI. Light and wandering things
Edited by Vera Canevazzi and Margherita Strada
exhibition period: september 30 - november 30, 2025
Artist's Studio | Milan
"Light and Wandering Things" marks the first public opening of Elisa Carutti's (Milan, 1991) studio: a rare opportunity to enter the intimate place of her research and take a closer look at the genesis of her works. The title, inspired by a verse by Umberto Saba, accurately restores the suspended and transitory quality of the images that make up her work - forms that emerge, dissolve, and always refer to something that eludes definition.
The exhibition presents some 20 recent works, including canvases from the "Parvenze" cycle, globes from the "Parvenza del mondo" series, and a site-specific wall installation, conceived in dialogue with the architecture of the studio and the works. Together, these works relate painting and sculpture, gesture and matter, memory and abstraction, returning a practice based on the unexpected and lightness.
