Vera Canevazzi Art Consulting conducted an expert report aimed at the historical reconstruction of a sculpture attributed to Alberto Giacometti, through a thorough historical-critical investigation developed on several levels. The work started from direct observation of the work, continuing with a thorough bibliographic research.
At the same time, contacts were made with important international museum institutions and foundations in order to verify the sculpture's provenance, assess its possible derivation from original models, and reconstruct its context within the various existing runs.
The survey also included discussions with experts in the field and specialized foundries that offered in-depth technical analysis of the work's execution methods and material characteristics, with particular attention to the artist's production practices.
The work thus made it possible to gather essential elements for a critical and technical-stylistic framing of the object, leading to a well-founded and contextualized evaluation. At the end of the assignment, the client was provided with a detailed document containing the entire development of the investigation, the sources examined, the results obtained, and the concluding considerations supporting the expert opinion on the work.
